Bull Run of the West discusses the events leading up to and including the Battle of Wilson’s Creek, the first to occur in the Western Theater. The battle is referred to as the Bull Run of the West due to the similar results inflicted on the Federal troops as in the Battle of First Bull Run. At Wilson’s Creek, Union General Nathaniel Lyon was the first Union General to fall during the Civil War.
