The First Campaign discusses George McClellan’s invasion of Western Virginia to safeguard the B&O Railroad and to protect the loyal citizens of Virginia. Battles occurred at Philippi, Rich Mountain, Laurel Hill, and Corrick’s Ford. Victories in these battles would propel General McClellan to command of the Army of the Potomac.
